New zero energy contemporary house, Haslemere
This was a very interesting project where we achieved planning permission for a new 8,000sqft zero energy contemporary dwelling near Haslemere, replacing a 2,000sqft bungalow. Our client asked us for “a house which maximises the floor space, looks as if it fell from outer space and is cheap to build”! We answered the brief by designing a house made of two interlocking squares, set at a diagonal to the main site axis. The Ying-Yang water feature was carefully positioned to reflect natural light deep into the plan and using environmental technology and over-insulation, the house has been designed to be as energy efficient as possible.
