what we do
Home buyers advice
We are often asked to look at houses by prospective purchasers and developers to help them assess the potential of a particular house. This service will include a site visit and an evaluation of any planning restrictions and design opportunities.
Before embarking on a project, we are often asked to undertake a Feasibility Study which will examine issues like planning restrictions, site constraints and costs. This work is usually carried out on a capped hourly rate or fixed price.
Occasionally we are asked to give independent third party advice on a project, whether already underway or planned. We usually offer this work on a capped hourly rate basis but can also offer fixed prices where the scope is clear.
With an accurate and detailed laser survey of the property, including site levels, boundaries, drains, plans, elevations and information on any neighbouring properties, we can be sure than anything we design will work and will not have any problems or expensive surprises on site due to incorrect or inadequate information.
We design beautiful and practical buildings, and our extensive knowledge of planning law means we can be reasonably sure that we will achieve planning permission. We have considerable success at achieving planning permission even on very complex projects and difficult sites in sensitive locations.
Our experienced and skilled technicians take great care in developing the final design into accurate and detailed coordinated construction information. We pride ourselves in the quality of our drawings which will be used for Building Regulations applications, for tendering and for construction.
We can either tender the project to a list of carefully selected builders, or help negotiate a price with one preferred builder. A competitive tender usually finds the lowest price, but a negotiated contract can help programme an early commencement for the project.
Building & Construction
Our role during the construction process is to inspect and certify the builder’s work, ensure they have all the information they need to proceed, and help solve unexpected problems, making the whole process stress-free and enjoyable for client, builder and architect!
Detailed Cost Planning
Cost planning is one of our most popular additional services. We can offer detailed estimates at various points during the design process, optimising your budget and avoid abortive work. This helps avoid surprises and tender returns usually closely match our cost plans.
We can arrange full structural engineering for your project giving you a one-stop-shop and ensuring fully integrated design. We only work with the best structural engineers who are fully qualified and experienced in every aspect of construction.
Our fully qualified and experienced Interior Designers have worked on many projects of all sizes from whole country houses to single pieces of furniture. Good interior design will provide the finishing touches which will turn your project into a stunning home.
