Another house on a difficult sloping site in the Surrey Hills south of Guildford. We replaced a tired bungalow with a new two storey house, combining modern construction technology with natural materials.
Over the system built basement we added a steel frame with a grass roof over insulated panels, with a balcony created from aluminium yacht masts and spars.
The green roof makes the house virtually invisible from the landscape above whilst the aluminium yacht components create an obviously contemporary aesthetic.
“One would always like cost to be kept to a minimum but we feel that we could have been charged a lot more, so we think the service was good value.”
“We got planning! It’s all online. Thanks for your help in putting together a really good set of documents.”
“Just been to the house and it’s looking great. Smiles all round from my point of view – looks awesome.”
“A most thorough planning application, well prepared, well researched and in tune with its environs. A unique design which makes best use of its surroundings.”
“The extension was the right decision, it looks great and the roof design makes it look as if it’s always been here. Great design!”
“The council… would suggest this design and layout be adopted for other similar developments.”
